I'm having really annoying problems with my PDA syncing with my computer.<br><br>I installed ActSyc and it worked first time without a problem.  But if I take my PPC away and connect it later on, it will connect for a second then dissconet and ctSyc will keep trying to connect to it.<br><br>I have to re-install everything again just to get a connection >:\  I did everything it said from the instructions right out of the box, but it keeps screwing up, and how the hell do you delete ActSyc off your system?  It wont quit, or I cant force it to close or even delete the program.

Try unplugging and replugging the cradle's cable from and to the desktop. If that's what you were doing, try rebooting and only cradle/uncradle the iPAQ and see if you get the same problem.<br><br>You're connecting via USB, right?Last modification: SonicSilicon - 04/10/01 at 19:35:24

What OS are you using and do you have an AMD or a pentium?  Windows 2000 and AMD plus USB with active sync can cause problems for some lame reason.

Hmm, the only thing I know that will work is a CompactFlash Ethernet card. It's kind of expensive, but is actually faster than USB. Unfortunately the list of negatives is harsh:<br>- Requires a ethernet card on your desktop<br>- Networking under Win 2000 can be a real pain if you don't know what you're doing<br>- the CF Ethernet card can be pricey<br>- You'll also need a crossover Cattegory(cat)-5 cable<br><br>Perhaps a CompactFlash serial card would work.<br><br>Of course the best solution would be for Microsoft to wake up and fix the probelm, but...<br><br>(Oh, c'mon! there's gotta be something I'm missing here>:( )

no, no, no, no! Don't do anything that drastic! That's ridiculous!  I just wanted to check to make sure what exactly your problem was.  One more question, does your motherboard use VIA technology chips?  If it does, then the best thing to do (which usually solves the problem 95% of the time) is to downlaod the latest VIA 4-in-1 driver pack from http://www.viatech.com/<br>If you don't know what your chipset is you can easily find out through your motherboard manufacturer's website, you might also find a download patch there if it isn't via.

Yeah I got an ABIT KT7, and I think I have the latest drives, I mean I couldnt find anything on the website that will upgrade my drivers.<br><br>I'm updating alot of my software now.<br><br>Just my luck, I spend a fortune on my 2 computers, and they aren't compatible with each other >:\

I fyou just bought it, then I can almost guarantee the drivers are old.  Did you download, I really highly suggest you download the latest 4-in-1 VIA driver pack.  That's what fixed mine (in win2000)

I had a similar problem trying to connect to a Dell Dimension. I selected "Enable support for legacy USB devices" in the BIOS, and that solved the problem. Of course that may have nothing at all to do with your system, but just in case...<br><br>Also, I strongly recommend ethernet 10Base-T if you can afford it. It is much faster than USB, especially for software development (dubugging on the device).<br><br>Dan East

can you find me the exact URL or nearest url for the 4in1 drivers, becuase I have searched all over the site and I cant find anything <br><br>Also on another topic, I'm looking into re-doing the entire operating system or layout on my pda when its up and running, so could I get a hand with that l8er in aother post? :>

Yeah, remember that link I gave awhile ago to www.viatech.com ? I don't think that this is necessary, since it seems that you've already fixed it somehow, but the abitkt7 uses a chipset that is listed on that page, you just have to find out which one, possibly by going to your mb manufacturers site and looking there.  If not there are many other sites on the web which will.  Moose has already listed one of the coolwst sites on the web  which also contains a link to drivers.com or something check there... or do a search on google for abitkt7 drivers via ; etc.     At the least, download the USB patch.....

I know what the Problem is... The connection on the bottem of your PDA has come a part from the two connecting Soldering on each side of the Connecter inside you PDA...Because it is not in the right place (It moves away when you put it into the Cradle)You will have problems trying to connect... You CAN try opening and REsoldering the Two connection that hold down the Port (That thing on the bottem of you Casio PDA that connects to the Cradle)... I have had the Same Problems and when i opened it and poked at the connector i saw that it was Cracked (The Solder had Broke apart From the Beard Board)I Resolder it and everything when well... Untill it broke again and i Just Added More Solder and it has always Ran well.... If you don`t want to Solder is or even open it to check you can just Poke at the Connection on the bottem of you PDA and See if it move... If it moves then Most likely the Connecting Solder that holds it down is Broken (I guess Casio was Cheap on the Solder on that Part of the Device ) IF you want more Infomation you can e-mail me at Ray0911@netzero.net   Sorry but i`m not coming back here to check on this Message board (i`m just to lazy )......
