Game Tutorial Site

Postby Michael Y » May 10, 2002 @ 9:49pm

Since most people visit my Snails fan site, Da Snail Zone (http://www.walkergroup.com/snails) just for my tutorial (and maybe the ppc2002 themes), would you guys be interested in making it a site for tutorials for many PocketPC games? Maybe I'd include other stuff, like custom levels and themes, but the main focus would be tutorials. I know this is sort of Snails-related, but I think it fits more naturally into this forum

Problem is, many of the games have detailed manuals. Now if you mean puzzle solutions, etc, I'm all for it.

I meant both. For games I'd have detailed tutorials to help you get started (like my Snails one), and then I'd have a strategy guide-like thing, with level specifics, puzzle solutions, strategies, and stuff like that

A site with tutorials would be great. Of course, most PPC users just learn as they go, but with your reputation from the Snails manual, I'm sure that could very well change. But Jesus, you have school work, and are a webmaster for 2 (3 if you make a tutorial site) websites, and on top of that you hopefully have a personal life to live. Don't you think that's a lot of work? But hey, you're Michael, and you rock at multitasking.

As for getting the site running, I'm working on a Snails strategy guide and I'm working out an AG deal with Malmer. For the strategy guide, I'm planning on having a bunch of totally interconnected pages. For instance, you're looking at a level's description and see that the recommended weapon is the Air Strike. Wondering what the Air Strike is, you click on the name and you come to a weapons page describing Air Strike. Then you read what mission you get it from, click on that, and you get a page with details on that mission. Sounds cool, eh? Might take a while, though :(

An AG walkthrough would be nice for people (like me) who have trouble in the game. :)
Two cupcakes were in an oven. One turned to the other and said "Damn, it sure is hot in here" and the other one said "HOLY SHIT! A TALKING CUPCAKE!"
