and...
Here are some sizes...
- Viewsonic v35 = 5.8 cubic inches (4.8"x3.0"x.4)
- Toshiba e310 = 6.1 cubic inches (4.9"x3.1"x0.4")
- Asus Zayo = 7.1 cubic inches (4.9x2.9x.5)
- Toshiba e740 = 9.1 cubic inches (4.9” x 3.1” x 0.6”)
- Toshiba e550g = 9.5 cubic inches (.62" x 3.1" x 4.92")
- Compaq Ipaq 3870/3835/3970 = 10.8 cubic inches (5.3"x3.3"x0.62")
- Pocket Loox = 11.2 cubic inches (5.2"x3.22"x0.67")
- Dell Axim = 11.6 cubic inches (5” x 3.3” x 0.7”)
Assuming all of these 'official' dimensions are accurate. And a unit might feel smaller or bigger depending on its shape.
Here they are by class:
1-slot:
- Viewsonic v35 = 5.8
- Toshiba e310 = 6.1
- Asus Zayo = 7.1
- Compaq Ipaq 3870/3835/3970 = 10.8
2-slot:
- Toshiba e740 = 9.1
- Toshiba e550g = 9.5
- Pocket Loox = 11.2
- Dell Axim = 11.6
You see now, the PocketPCs are not cubic things, but if you are watching which is smaller, The ViewSonic will take lot of advantage over the new Dell, twice to be exactly. (5.8 x 2 = 11.6)
Devices with 2 slots are usually bigger than one slot units. CF slots need more space than SD, maybe if you could get a device with 2 SD slots ...
