Again with pessimism (aka realism), let me remind that game development is hard. Stories aren't created in a few minutes, art isn't created in a few days, and programming isn't finished in a few weeks. Not for a decent game, by a relatively inexperienced developer.
Having said that, there is one thing which can help, and that is finding others who can work with you. They need to have the same drive you have, and a useful skill. Finally, you need to be able to coordinate, both the people and the assets involved.
By all means don't give up, but approach the task realistically. Start with a small project, even if it's a small RPG.
