Wait, can't the current Xscale chips be clocked up to 1Ghz? It might need a better heatsink, but...

Yes, 1GHz is as high as the XScale processor architecture is capable of being clocked to. That doesn't mean your 400MHz chip can overclock to 1GHz. That's like saying that my Athlon 1.3GHz can clock to 3.2GHz because that's the fastest Athlon available. 400MHz was proven to be the optimum speed for battery conservation and performance, so that's why PDAs are generally 400MHz.

those robot dog things use intel embedded processors, which probably means XScale.

Not necessarily, embedded x86 is pretty common, and remember that XScale processors are relatively very new.

well, it's still an embedded processor so it's the same field so it counts.

... They should make lazer tag stuff, like they did in the old days, the older kind of lazer tag stuff, not this stupid ridiculous new lazer tag equipment, but the official 1980's brand. That stuff was awesome.
