Do you think it would be possible for someone to write a dynamic recompiler for snes on the ppc? How much of a speed increase do you think it would give?

Ok. I've searched for source code for NLKSNES and NLKE which added sound support. It does not appear that either went open source. I checked out the source of ZNES which is the fastest SNES emu I've tried. It's all assembly. Is there no way to programmatically convert between asm flavors?
