I've just told two PM members how to encode like I did. I'm in a rush so I'm hoping they might help you out. I'll be gone for 2 weeks. Now, it will sound dubious, but if you think about it, the math makes sense and it turns out to be about 1.6 kb per frame at 12 kbps (half of playing speed of all films) and at 1.6 kb per frame at 320x240, it's not too hard to believe it can compress that. I'll check back and tell the full method late tonight.
EDIT: Hopefully with the proof of screenshots and/or pictures of my PDA with that on it.
Please hurry up with the details! I want to know how to convert movies to ~99MB and view them using Pocket TV (since I only have a 256MB (2 x 128MB) memory stick) [Yes, I have an Acer PDA.. and it only accepts Sony Memory Sticks.. *sigh* {not Memory Stick Pro}]
when i had black hawk down at 1.5gigs, it was nearyl dvd quality, but i could never get it near fitting on my 256mb cf... BTW, compusa has a 256mb sd for $60.
