A730W USB charging?

Postby PROPortable » Jan 24, 2005 @ 4:39am

Oh, thats not the same as charging through a usb port. The port on computers will not charge the pocket pc, especailly while on.. as it uses more power than it can draw. That adapter is something diffent entirely. I just hope if you're using that you have made sure that it is providing the same power as the ac adapter. If it's not, you may accidentally burn up your battery.

I also bought the boxwave AA battery charger that connects to their usb cable. The lack of an external charger to charge the extra battery makes it not too convienent. When I use the Bt keyboard, I plug the Asus into this AA charger so I can get through a day.
That is my only dissapointment with the Asus, I can't get through a whole day with the single battery. I had no problems with my older iPaq 3900.
We really need an external battery charger.

Has anyone taken apart the cradle? I wonder if I can tap into the power lines and manually connect the wires to charge that battery.

I also heard there is a battery company that makes higher capacity standard sized batteries for PPC. Forgot the name though.

Current is important, not just voltage
