Brighthand HACKED!

Re: Brighthand HACKED!

Doesnt matter, as long as you are a moderator here, you are representing pocketmatrix.

does that mean if someone has a different opinion that you will delete the post? sounds like Brighthand.

You have a right to your opinion, but in that capacity you shouldnt express them here.

Too bad, i had hope for this site, it actually was usable on my pda. However i have to agree with the earlier post, sounds like its not going to be a serious site since the moderators are acting like kids, and have no respect for their competition.

1) We do not delete posts that oppose our own opinions.

2) What are discussion boards for anyways? If you weren't allowed to express your opinion, what would be the point?

3) If we were to tell our moderators not to express their opinion, they would lose interest in the site and think of it as a chore.

PocketMatrix opinion on the Brighthand thing: We haven't heard the entire story from both sides, and will wait until that to draw a conclusion

If you have any other comments, questions just let me know.

Last modification: Chris Edwards - 07/09/01 at 08:12:41

Thanks. We'd rather have an unrestricted environment with a few cannot's, then a restricted environment with a few can's.

Anonymous,

You have no idea how engraged I am that you would think we would delete a post because it's different from my opinion. I don't think a single post has ever been deleted by a moderator on this forum. Most of the time the users either correct the problem after being told, or delete it themselves.

I wasn't 'hired' by PocketMatrix to moderate these forums. I have no official link to any website. And I'm really sorry that people want to have a fun conversation, express opinions, or hear other's opinions.

And no respect for my competition? As I am not an official part of PocketMatrix, I am only a user, I have no 'competition.' Again, I'm sorry that a regular user has a regular opinion and wants to express it in his regular post. And if have you not visted any other threads on this forum? Then you'll see how serious this site is and can be.

And thanks for wishing us luck, same to you anon.

Moose, mine, because I posted an entire 5kb-textfile. It was deleted seconds before I modified it... :( But how should Chris (or was it Matt?) have known, it just destroyed the layout...

Paul, that's a little much for one sentence. And we're trying to get more people on the forums, not drive them away. Maybe you should clean it up a bit.

D A M N, lookit how many people are on the board NOW. Must be 55 people on all at the same time (most are guests- REGISTER ALREADY!).

I've only had one of my posts edited, but that was Carpediem playing a prank and I didn't take it seriously.

Anyway, WE HERE PODUNKS AT POCKETMATRIX pretty much run the show. The mods have additional power to move, delete and edit posts, but they are seldom used. Usually when such a drastic measure is taken they inform us WHY, like when the Argentum thread was moved to it's own Forum.

Instead of it being just another modded forum, this is more of a group effort or a democracy. Everyone has input and opinions, and everyone is free to express them. Even the mods.

The most anyone has to fear here is that they will get flamed, but never bound and gagged.

Oh, and if you do start posting on a regular basis don't take any of my jokes seriously. Most are usually offended immediately by what i say, I still don't know why. That's what jokes are! ;D
