To get back on topic...I have emailed the company that makes this, and they have yet to reply after about 2-3 weeks, kinda strange if you ask me...
I wanted all things
To seem to make some sense,
So we all could be happy, yes,
Instead of tense.
And I made up lies
So that they fit nice,
And I made this sad world
A par-a-dise.

length, breadth, width, and duration are the four known dimensions.

1D) a single point, 2D) a line, 3D) an object with the previous AND depth, and 4D) an object with the previous AND time.

Some scientists argue that we now know of 12 dimensions, I can't recall all of them. a lot deal with time, subspace/dark matter, and other space phenomenon.

Paul, hologram can't be touchable. It makes no sense.

Moose, that projector from FF:TSW was my first association when I read this article [and it's orange too ;]]. But I don't see any relation with time... it was probably the same input solution, but this time cameras were 3D and were locating fingers precisely [or how do you spell that].

well thats how it works, it sees the changes in the light, doesnt it?

they had one on enterprise recently. it was a holographic display that stuck up vertically and reed interacted with it by touching it.

Paul, was that display projected from both up and down? Whatever, changes in the light probably won't be to precise... Sensors should be from both up/down and side. If it will be on one direction [vertical or horizontal], then it receives only one coordinate, X or Y. To locate the cursor [touch position] it needs two coordinates...<font size=1 color=#3355AA>

it was from below, a small device about a third the size of the resulting hologram.

but hey, its 31st century technology, i doubt they'd still use cameras to get the job done...

If it was only from down, then it needs work :] "Touching" a projected display will cause lose of image over your finger.
