The hardware acceleration on that ATI chip is only useful for playing back streaming video with a certain type of encoding. None of the functionality of the chip is useful for game programming. Thus PocketDivX and PocketTV represent the whole list of products that can make any use of the ATI hardware acceleration.

The new Imageon chip looks like it might actually help performance.. but I'm not going to say anything after this debacle.
