Problem:
My computer spits out nothing but jibberish all of a sudden, and none of the software I need to do my job seems to exist at all.

Answer:
Linux somehow got installed on my PC. Instead of trying to figure out why XFree86 won't even start Gnome in 640x480x16, I went down to the nearest Gateway Country and paid my Microsoft tax again and got a new machine. Now I'm beholden to Satan, but at least I can type my term paper and play Railroad Tycoon again.

OS:
I'm not really sure, but I suppose if I post that question to a Linux newgroup, after the inevitable 100 messages blasting me for not knowing how to grep my home dir and pipe the result to sortman with the proper '-drx {[l]xx'x} | out>ksr.dat' command line, they'll eventually tell me I shouldn't have a computer in the first place, and then someone might actually give me a USEFUL answer!

System:
I'm not sure any more, I smashed it all to hell with a jackhammer.

(Take this in the joking manner it was meant, lest I start another Linux Jihad here. And YES, I DO use Linux, I'm not a complete feeb, and I DO know I made all that stuff up (well, except for the X thing... damn I hate X!). Dude, your taking this seriously ALREADY, aren't you?!?).
...and so I said to Mr. Gates: "$640 billion should be enough for anyone!"

Installation was flawless for me. Installed twice (somehow messed up the filesystem the first time heh) and upgraded twice.

Oh yea.. that program.. I'm crying. Yup.
