Another setting to check in DVD2AVI is the YUV -> RGB setting.

If you're not planning to play these files back on a standard TV, then make sure PC is checked. The reason is, Black on a PC is a value of 0 accross the board, while on a TV it's 16,16,16.

Yes, you can, however sound does not work properly.

Make an Mpeg file, I prefer VCD resolutions so I can make VCDs if needed. Use that new Mpeg file to create your DivX movie via VirtualDub.

It takes roughly as long as viewing the movie normally to convert it to DivX from Mpeg.

Last modification: 999 - 05/08/01 at 18:52:46

Just sell your PPC and buy one of those Portable DVD players..... ;) And you will never need to worry about bit rates, VCDs, VCRs NPCs CNNs etc. again :)

Last modification: Diego Cueva - 05/09/01 at 19:09:49

The batteries on those portable DVD players doesn't last through an entire movie.

Have you tried oone out before moose? I sincerely doubt that they would put a standalone portable dvd player on the market if the batteries wouldn't last through at least one movie... if not 3 or 4.

I know it lasts more than one movie... But I wouldn´t buy one. They are too big in my opinion.
