Smartphone?

Are they, really? I thought "smartphone" was just a generic term for a phone that can do... stuff.

Well, sort of kind of. But that's akin to people calling your PocketPC a Palm. I believe Microsoft swooped in and took the name Smart Phone as more than just a description and have copyrighted it. Now a SmartPhone is a phone like the SPV Orange.
