I personally can't stand the feel of the X3i, so uncomfortable compared to my 2215. That alone is a deciding factor, so I think I am going to keep my 2215 for a while longer, because I want VGA.
Careful, don't get crushed under the weight of my stupidity... the think hurts

Actually, I mapped it that way only for SNES emulation, where I would like to have access to all 4 fire buttons while keeping my left thumb on the d-pad.

As for the nes style, it's not difficult to press two application buttons at same time, but it's not perfectly comfortable either. Basically you would put your right thumb between the two buttons; the tip of the thumb on the mail button (B), and everytime you want to jump, tilt the thumb slitly to the right. It does sound awkward, but you'll get used to it (or maybe not).

the dell x -series D-pad and buttons suck.. the D-pad has these ridges that hurt after awhile and the 4 buttons are recessed in the PDA making them a pain to press quickly for action games

I'm not too concerned with the buttons as I can just get one of Dan's adapters or use my IR keyboard.
(Do IR keyboards work well for gaming?)

:)

This ppc has eveything i need and most of what I want. Its easily within my budget too. Wooo

Yea, there are some big developements that are on the urge of release that might be worth holding off. See: First XScale devices (Toshiba's first sucked) PXA255 (Toshiba still was first, still sucked)

VGA and PXA270 are the same thing happening again. Wait until a few more companies have their offerings out.
holy internets batman.
