I visited Pocketgamer and came across the post about DoomPDA which led me here. Well, honestly I agree with you guys that Machineworks is indeed fooling a lot of people with their product. And WTF?!! 20 bucks for this?!! And handango just made it worse by blocking all reviews made into that product. I tried submitting my review too and it was never actually posted! Does Machineworks have any website? All I got was this DoomPDA website but still doesn't have any info about the developer themselves.

More thoughts:

It always amazes me how people can shoot themselves in the foot for no good reason. Machine-Jerks could have been heroes- there seems to be such a big interest in PPC Doom ports that there's probably room for 2 or 3 competing ones.

All they had to do was leave Legacy Doom alone and come out with a port that provided everything Jimmy Doom did and more ie. customized buttons, landscape, and maybe even the music (I'm sure this could be done with MP3 just as they're doing with PocketScumm). Then sell the thing for, say, $9.95-$14.95 max. Damnit, I'd even pay $20 for Doom with the music. (Hell, I already paid $20 twice for DoomPDA 1.0 and 1.1).
