Okay, so please help me. I know its slow, but what the heck! I want a cheap 802.11b in my house (wifi), but I am not sure what to get. I dont want wired, since i have to buy long cables and plus I want it to work with my e740.

So first I buy a Dlink Wireless Router:
http://www.dlink.com/products/broadband/di713p/

Then I want 2 computers using it, one P2 with Windows 98, and the other a P4 with Windows XP

So these 2 Wireless PCI Cards, or the other version? The Enhanced one better or what?

2x http://www.dlink.com/products/wireless/dwl520/
or 2x http://www.dlink.com/products/digitalHo ... +/dwl520+/

Hmm....there pretty expensive though....I might switch to Linksys if its cheaper.

And now, I want my e740 to conenct to 802.11b, will that be okay?

And lastly, anything else I should know? THANKS!

I'm 100% D-Link airplus (22mbps 802.11b) in my house, and I haven't had any problems. I'm using the D-Link DI-614+ as my wireless router, and then the D-Link notebook card, and access point. Except for one little problem I had with the router, it's worked like a dream. Having an e740 hooked up to my network myself, I can tell you that it works without a hitch.

My computers both have SoundBlaster cards, I heard there is a conflict between them, is this true? Should I switch to netgear or linksys? I really like Dlink...i dont wanna switch..

Well like that thing where I pointed out yet again that Cameron used the acronym "WAN" incorrectly. That was intentional condescention. Sometimes, however, people are just too touchy or take what I say in the incorrect fashion.
