Increasing cycles on pocketsnes

There's a thread going on at the pocketsnes bleeding edge site.

Basically, someone mentioned that if you increase the cycles from 100 to 1000 or more, the emulator runs much faster.

I tried this trick, and got shadrun to move at a much faster speed.

Anyone else try this, or know why this works? Any ill effects for the emulator/ppc?

:?

I tried it, got nothing. But I'll try again just for the sake of science.

[edit] okay, I'm back. At 100 cycles the frame counter says 20/60 after the game steadies. With a cycle of 1000 I get between 25 to 30/60, and it ran much smoother, no more choppiness. I'd say it's good to set the cycle at 1000. There were no bugs or glitches at all.
