Without costing an arm and a leg? You don't, unless you have a very giving cell phone provider.

you could get a compactflash 802.11b card, i got mine for $30. Then you would need a wireless access point, i just got mine for $50. Now i can go on the internet anywhere in my house, and around it. That includes AIM, and internet radio. I am going to get it working at my school soon too.

You can go over to SprintPCS.com and buy one of their wireless CDMA (or is it 1xRTT?) Compact Flash cards and an wireless internet service plan, although the card costs about $250 and it's $40 a month for 20 MB minimum.
Fett's 802.11b card will only allow you to connect to the internet within your home within range of a WiFi Hub that's connected to a broadband internet connection. The SprintPCS CF card will connect wherever Sprint provides signal. The speed will be slower than dial-up on Sprint.

Ricochet, if it's even launched in your city, for about $50 a month. Forget about it unless your uber-rich.

Ricochet fell through, didn't they?

They did, and they're back with a more sensible pricing model.

Why don't you just buy a new modem that has ethernet?
