:?: OK, bear with me for a second. I've got an audio card that connects to my PC via USB thru which it can see 5.1 digital audio from the PC. Now, my PDA(too embarassed to say which one-alright a E-125)syncs to my PC via USB. So, is it possible to encode ripped files to play out of the PDAs USB in a 5.1 digital audio stream ,and configure a media player to output that stream on the USB port to hit the soundcard for full 5.1 audio from the PDA. Most new movies are encoded for 5.1, I'd just like to keep that feature on the PDA--small screen-really big audio.
(Does this make any sense at all?)

It's not gonna happen. You need drivers for the soundcard. I have a Sound Blaster Extigy as well which I hook my laptop up to for 5.1 surround sound. What I do is use a regular 3.5mm audio cable and attach it to the front audio-in port. That gives you perfect stereo audio, and CMSS will distribute that throughout the 5.1 speakers. I don't even think the PocketPC has software that will play AC3 files or any other 5.1 encoded media.

Sorry,

PPC USB Audio
