I've been using TMPENG (or whatever it's called) to encode movies to MPEG as i found Window Media to be slow. What are the best wetting to use when encodeding to MPEG when taking into account it will be viewed on a Casio-EM500, I don't care about the size of the file as im only using short clips. I just want to know how to get the best performance. Most importanaly what bit rates and resolution work best.

Oh and also, every time i load of PocketDoom (The Jimmmy Software one) as soon as a start a new game the game exits!! Anyone know whats wrong here. And it's not a memory problem, at least i dont think.

Well, firstly, the MMC tranfer speed is rather slow, and may impede your Mpeg playback.

Next, make sure you have your mpeg in the right screen dimensions, and at a low but decent bitrate. I find that 208x160 mpeg files encoded between 96-196kbps look and playback nicely. The lower the bitrate, the faster the playback, but on that same token, the quality is also reduced with lower kbps. It's all a balancing act that could take you hours to finally get to your liking. Once you find your settings, save them off as an .mcf file :)

Well, about the PocketDoom, there's a special .WAD file that's required called DOOM4CE.WAD and Jimmy's version will not work without it. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause that problem, so if you do have it aitting in the corrcet directory, I don't know what else to suggest.

Okay, Doom4CE.wad needs to reside in the same directory as Doom.exe. Along with those two files you need a ligitimate .WAD file such as the Shareware .WAD, doom1.wad.

If it's still not working you probably need to load GAPI 1.2 (gx.dll and gx.lib) in to the \Windows folder of your WinCE unit. Links for all these files can be found at page.

If it's still crashing, please give us some more details, such as where (before or after the title screen) exactly what steps you are following, etc. This might help us come up with another idea as to what's going wrong.
