Windows Streaming Media Server and iPaq

I am running Windows Streaming Media Server on Win2000. It works fine on desktops and laptops, but I can't get my iPaq 3635 with WMP 7.1 to run any content. I have noticed in other groups this is fairly common, but nobody seems to have a solution. I can d/l the content into the player and it works fine, and there are a few sites out there that it will hook up with and work fine streaming. But it won't stream with my server. I have tried both HTTP and MMS (And MMST). Watching the Server Monitor, I can tell that the iPaq doesn't ever log on. What gives? Any ideas? Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks!

That looks pretty cool. But.. I don't see anything about video or live casts. It's a really cool product though. I really am not to concerned about video, but I do need to broadcast live audio.

I sure would like for my Windows Media Service to just work like it's suppose to.

Any other thoughts!!??

Thanks!

So I finally got this thing working, sorta, you can't use IP addresses, you have to use server names & include the port.

So new problem. I need to use IP addresses. The following line will work on an intranet desktop..

http://192.168.1.103/8888

So does..
http://PHWMM01/8888 (Assuming the server name is PHWMM01)

but if I want to hit the server from outside a firewall that does not have a registered server name, I need to supply the IP assigned by my internet provider.

This works through the firewall on a desktop.. but not on the iPaq
http://24.1.100.50/8888 (Assuming that's the IP)

but there is no server name to supply to the iPaq and the ip address doesn't take.

I checked my iPaq for a LMHost file but there isn't one. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve an IP address on the pocket pc WMP7.1? Is there some special syntax needed?

I tried a few things with the settings.. http proxy settings but no luck.

Thanks!
