i'd suggest mpg1.. You don't have the processing power for divx. I'd also suggest going portrait, instead of landscape... so 240x176 would the size of the video.

Check out

Skip the dvd parts and go right to the AVI-MPG conversion. I have some settings you might want to use in there.. Use the low or medium quality settings in portrait orientation.

hope that helps

I have some Invader Zim cartoons in DIVX and MPEG
1 format. I'd like to convert them all to MPEG, but seem to run into some problems matching the quality of the other MPEG files.

What is the best quality I can achieve converting from DIVX to MPEG? and what would be these settings if I was using something like TMPGENC to encode? I'm not concerned with the filesize, or dimensions/resolution since these are for my desktop computer.

sure, why not?

Well, its certified that I won't be on any encoding teams any time soon. I just want the damn video to run on any computer without having to download any assinine codecs, and excesssive bullshit players. Is that too much to ask?

wow. Glad to see someone else actually watches Nickelodeon, and has heard of Invader Zim.

I don't know the legality of it all, but if I was Johen Vasquez I would want this badass little cartoon promoted any way possible. I am sure Nick owns the right to distribution though, and they are VERY tight on their properties.

Also, webspace is a big concern. A 10 minute MPEG is around 120 megs. I didn't encode these - I DLed them from Morpheous/Grokster. I plan to make a PPC friendly version and post them on Grokster as well, since that is the only way I can see of distributing these.

Like I said though: I'd hate to catch hell for doing this.

When I re-encode them, I'll post the name[s] here so people can differentiate which ones are mine (they might have a "PocketPC-friendly" comment or something).

you are really wearing thin on my nerves. I am encoding this shit for myself. I don't belong to any TEAM, and I never WILL.

I have an idea, how about you just start encoding and distro them yourself? Why the hell are you waiting for a team to back you?
