I need some better encoding solutions because VD and Tmpg are just not cutting it. I want to hear any suggestions for encoding software even if the price is insane [any where from free to the $1,000 range] (Please take note this is not in Multi-media discussion because I figured I would get more feedback here). Here are some programs I have tried: Tmpg, Virtual Dub, Helix mobile producer, Helix producer plus, Windows Meida encoder, and other crummy 3rd party applications (I am not calling the products I listed by name crummy). I am looking to find encoders that will output files either supported by Pocket MVP, Mpeg TV, Windows Media Player 9, or real one player (I need windows compatible encoding software not mac stuff). Thanks in advance

What's wrong with virtualdub? It works perfectly if you do it right. If you're clueless, it outputs shit or often nothing at all.

Those are really the only big, non $100+ choices.
