Beware, these "format" programs seem to only put down a filesystem; they don't repartition the disk. I still have a 128MG SD card which I'm sure has a corrupt partition. It will format, of course, and works, but I don't believe it is right.

AFAIK, nothing can rewrite the partitions on the PPC's side.

I repartitioned my cards in a reader/writer under Linux.
In fact, I took a raw disk image of an unused 256MB CD card and used it to re-image my used 256MB SD card. That made it a perfect factory reset, with correct partitions and format.
I just don't have an unused 128MB SD card to do the same.

Needs a special driver and administrative privileges in win2k (speaking from experience). I just talked to my school's system administrator, cause i had to use it for a school project. I suggest you should try the same.

Really? I was able to use my cruzer with the school comps which all ran XP and no, I didn't have any admin priveleges. Of course, XP might be different than 2k in this case.
