Has anyone checked out this new pda called the Zodiac. It looks incredible. A True entertainment pda which combines a great gaming environment with mp3 player, picture viewer and all the things a high end pda comes with.

Check out the web site and let me know what the PDA world thinks about this.

According to my friends at ATI, the Imageon 4200 is the same as the ATI Imageon 3200, just with on-board DRAM (8 MB in this case).

There was a post about the 3200 here at PM last year:
http://www.pocketmatrix.com/forums/view ... on+toshiba

ATI info:
http://www.ati.com/products/imageon3200/index.html

It only has 2D acceleration, but does include hardware gouraud shading and alpha blending. So it could do 3D substantially faster than pure software rendering using those capabilities to render poly spans.

Personally I would not invest that much in a portable gaming device when devices with true 3D hardware are right around the corner.

The two main problems I have with Zodiac are 1) I'm not looking for a handheld gaming console, and 2) its a derivative of Palm OS 5 which I shudder to think of betraying my Pocket PC OS ;)
