How to encode at 30fps ????

Hi, I'm need some help encoding movies at 30 fps...
I ordered a Dell AXIM 400mhz and will pick it up in a few days at the store before I go on my long plane trip...

This is my first PPC so I don;t know much about encoding videos for a PPC...I want to convert a bunch of movies in advance to put on some compact flash cards so I can just go and pickup my PPC and head for the airport...

Which is the best Media Player for the AXIM???
What is an ideal Bitrate and Size for a movie?
I justwant to watch some movies like the Bullet Proof Monk and some Anime but I don;t know the ideal setting for them...

I tried using Neszis's guide but I don't know how it will perform on the AXIM as I do not have it in hand yet...

I converted a 30 minute anime episode of Love Hina using the following settings...

- MPEG-1 Video
- 320 x 240
- 3:3 NTSC
- 29.97 fps
- constant bit rate(CBR)
- 1000 BITRATE
- V biffer (auto)
- Normal motion search
- 48000hz sampling rate
- Stereo
- 64 Bitrate for audio

Thats about it, the movie came out to be about 220MB.
Will the movie be playable on the AXIM 400mhz??? And how will the quality be???

lower the bitrate to 250 or 300. 1000 is far too much.

I might even consider lowering the framerate to be closer to the original file, because my love hina episodes have a rather low frame rate. 15 fps or something, i believe.
You might want to reduce the sound quality a bit too.
I would probably add a rotate 90° filter so pocketmvp wont have to do that.

How do I know what the frame rate of my source video is??? I'm trying to convert an episdoe of Love Hina Again which is about 239 MB. So I should find out the actual fps of the source and convert it using tempgen close to the original FPS? How will the qaulity be??? ALSO how do I rotate the video 90 degrees in TEMPGen??

I dont believe you can do it in tempgen. Use VirtualDub, its way better. There you can also convert to DivX, which will make the file size smaller and the quality better. Before you ask where to get it, just google it. I believe its www.vdub.org but i might be wrong.
It will tell you the fps in virtual dub. You can set it up somewhere in the video menu. just leave it to "dont change".
You might want to try the guide (in the guides section on top of this page) on converting video if you are unfamiliar with virtual dub.

I'd suggest using the program "VirtualDub" to encode the video. It's far better.

To determine the framerate right click on the original video file and go to properties and look around in there, it should tell you the original bitrate and framerate.
