but is now comparable to same generation PPC or still slower?

Yes, it's comparable to similar generation devices with the update ROM. But the device still exhibits a button lag. During video games it takes 300 milliseconds for the device to register button presses, so it's like playing everything while you're drunk, minus the fun.

ok I wasn't thinking about that lag issue, I meant only about pure graphic speed... So it's good for applications and divx?

Yes, but there are better new devices available now, which aren't very expensive at all.

If you really want a crappy ppc with wifi get a 5450.

The thing is a e740 get's worse speed on a video then a 1945 does :).
Plus the e740's screen looks like a gba sp screen baddly lite and color's all look dull and washed together. On top of that the screen has bad dust problems, just horrible 8O .
The speed is dredful and has problems just running nes. Has button lag and the speakers crack and pop and are very quiet. It's just shit, not worth getting. The only 2002 device worth getting would be a 1910 because of the screen ONLY but it's performace and features are just so horrible compaired to wm2003 devices.

If you don't care about button lag , get a e350... but there's a reason why these devices are so cheap.
