Well Hello everybody,

We just got started on porting a version of Valve's Half-Life for the Pocket PC. I know you will all be excited now that I inform you it will be online. Although it will use a large group server of our own here at Inferno, the server list will add up.

It should be beta released around 12/01/03

The full version for 29.95 around 12/20/03

We will offer christmas rush delivery.

Feel free to post any comments.

I'm sorry? Something you would like to say?

You haven't a shred of credibility, no previous titles, newly registered, and looking at the speeds of PQ1 and PQ2, technically imfeasable. And how are you breaking the 22MB RAM limit in PPC2K2? PQ2 on 2K2 won't boot because of that.

I'll believe it when I see it. If this goes on, I'll even fire off an e-mail to Gabe for his response. He actually does respond to mail if you mail him.

In either case, I've spent too long on this crud, I'm going to bed.

Really? I happen to agree with Sponge, but please, prove us wrong.

Please post a web page for us to view concerning this port, because I Googled it and it came up without any matches.

Yes, In fact we are newly registered and established.

But I can tell you we are getting our main server up for our new website www.infernogamingstudios.com

To sponge's RAM Question, We are using a new self-coded system called PBM to increase the memory capabilities all the way to 128MB Performance on some systems.

And of course this will not be a port of full lengths, it will require the textures and geometry to be a little less complex and lower than 72/pixel resolution to run at a acceptable rate.

The buffering rates will need to be set at less-than-quantum for the 64MB to handle.

Also it will not have as many polygon algorithms as the original, about half, to set it at a nicer 15fps on most PPCs.

Does Valve have this on their site? It would only make sense that Valve had to sell some source for your company to port it.

Actually Charisma,

We had been working on this Valve port for awhile underground, then after we had the game's main source code down we needed to licence some of Valve's code, this, Charisma, is where we had to go over with them all the things we will be doing of this code, and why.

Also, No, Valve has no intentions of releasing a page about a port by Inferno.

People are not going to trust this until they see something, myself included. If you are for real and you want people to support you, then you need to send a beta to somebody so they can vouch for you. David Horn and Mike Wagstaff from pocketgamer.org can both be trusted, as can myself and Chris Edwards. Until that happens, I wish you luck, but I wouldn't expect much support for the community.

If you can post (lot's) of screenshots, and maybe a video of the PPC playing HL, then I would believe you.

For know, I just hope that it's true :)

I saw it too :)

But if this is true, then it would be awesome :)
With the online multiplayer, and hopefully mod-support. (CS and DoD on your PPC )
