here are my requirements

- less than $200 (used, ebay, etc is ok)
- wifi or wifi upgradable (cf or sdio)
- no wierd performance problems (gAPI bug, 3800, e740)
- no weird hardware issues (toshiba button problem)
- windows mobile 2003 or upgradable**
- i dont care about what type of expansion unless its for wifi upgrade.. i will use watever, sd, cf, sony
- id dont care about screen quality (reflective, etc)
- im interested in emulating... nes/gameboy is no problem i hear, but snes requires some hardware...ive heard that arm 200mhz are better than xscale 400mhz at this?
- i will take overclocking into consideration if it will help performance
- battery life isnt much of a concern for me.. will be next to outlet most of the time

** windows mobile/ppc 2003 isnt a necessity its just that if i get a non wifi built in device i will have to get either a sdio or cf wifi device.. all the ones ive seen require winmobile 2003 to be installed.. or is there an exception? also ive heard that ppc2k3 boosts performance considerably

primary use will be for checking email... accessing my remote server, playing mp3s, viewing pdf documents, occasional snes/nes/gameboy emulating.. im not interested in divx and native pocket-pc games

i was looking at a asus/zayo a600 but.. it looked perfect but lack of sdio means no wifi.. i NEED wifi

another good one seemed like the acer n20/n20w.. but i cant find these anywhere... i live in the US

the toshiba e740 is dirt cheap and looks good on paper but it has soooo many problems

the one i would get if i had no budget would be the axim x3i, but i have a budget...

aghhh.. this is why i need your help guys

There's no such thing.

Check out the iPaq H1935, it's the cheapest devices out there.

I suggest buying used if you can.

There are lots of CF and SDIO wi-fi adapters, so the asus would be fine (if you find one used, which is unlikely).

It has a completely different design, but it's still using similar drivers.

Apparently, there's less lag, but it is still there.

okay guys well i ordered a e355 from amazon for like $170.. later i was searching brighthand and found out that the e355 in fact DOES NOT HAVE SDIO!!!!!! SCREW TOSHIBA TO HELL!!! So basically this thing is useless to me...

So now I also ordered a dell axim x5 wih the pxa255.. so i just spent like $400 and have 2 PDAs on their way.. im gonna most likely return the e355 and im gonna try out the axim

i know everyone here wants to have sex with asus and reccomends anything but asus, however, i read that the new x5's that come with ppc2k3 and pxa255 instead of the pxa250 perform very good... about on par with the hp 2215 and dell x3i.. so i think ill be happy.. also since it has a CF slot i can afford a much cheaper CF wifi card...

ill post results as soon as i get these puppies.... where can i get the quake benchmark??

All the Axim's have 255's i thought... mine does, but its ppc2002... They arent on par with the 2215 though.
