No, I've never seen that, I've never seen anyone drive their garbage out to the curb and bang the hell out of it with a stick. No, I've never seen that.

CF can last 100years without energy, nice no? Without a scratch too.

Microdrive is slower for seeking - Flash memory has no "seek" time because the memory can be accessed completely randomly with no penalty. However for raw throughput a microdrive is faster. Also, a microdrive goes into standby when it is not used for a minute or two. When it is accessed it has to spin-up, which causes a delay.

I am VERY much considering getting one of these out of that mp3 player. I've gone from a 64 to a 128 to a 256 then finally a 512. I need more storage for mp3s, movies and roms. Does anyone here have a microdrive? I want to know how bad it kills battery when you listen to a song on it, or load a rom, or watch a movie. Any help would be appreciated. BTW if i get the money soon I would be selling a 512 Kingston CF. PM me if your interested.

If you have the money, get a CF card. They are MUCH more durable than a Microdrive and use a LOT less power. If you drop the Microdrive while standing onto a linoleum floor, it'll probably fail within a week's use. This happened to me. I dropped it while changing the Microdrive out for my WiFi CF card, and dropped it. It ran about three times louder than normal, and failed to recognize about 75% of the time. It died about 2 weeks later after I tried to transfer several hundred megabytes to it.

Yeah I remember hearing that a whiles back but I would never take it out. Also I would fill up a 1gig CF in about a second so I'm hoping that 4gigs will do the trick.
