Connecting my Asus to a Mac

Connecting my Asus to a Mac

Postby Miracle » May 3, 2004 @ 3:51pm

Hi Y'all!

As some of you may know, I am working with a macintosh (OSX) at my work. I recently bought a USB bluetooth stick (brand: PenPower) and I wanted to use it to connect to my Mac (G4 running on OSX) so that I can browse the internet from my PPC. Here comes my problem: I can easily connect via BT, but I can't get the internet sharing to work!

I've searched the internet for help, but I only found a couple of guides on how to connect when you have a Palm (mostly Tungsten), wich I do not have :).

Can somebody help me out here?

Thanks in Advance,

Dave "Miracle" Jansen

there are some mac syncing tools, maybe they have some sort of internet "pass through" like activesync does. PocketMac is the only one that comes to mind right now but there are others.

Ok I've given up trying to let my Mac host internet for my Pocket PC...

However, I figured that I could use an old PC Machine (running Win2K Server) could help me out here, so I installed everything to get it to work, but there's a problem; I can't share my internet connection!
Because the PC is connected to a network (where the internet is coming from), I cannot put on the 'share my internet connection' option, since then windows has to change my IP to 192.168.0.1, wich is already in use on a real server running here.

I got this thing to work at my home because in Windows XP there's an option to 'bridge' 2 network connections, but Win2K doesn't have that (and no I can't upgrade this PC to WinXP :P).

Can somebody help me out here?
