well..then ....something you maybe wanted to know : WARCRAFTworks fine in 320*240 landscape mode !!!...very smooth , a bit slow, but playable =) mouse works fine too.

i also tried worms (messed up mouse, cannot start a game) and doom (way too slow to play^^)

Shit, this thing is more capable than I thought! Got a link to the DosBox for PPC? Bit lazy at the moment, can't find anything obvious.

What device are you using?

asus a620 non bt (latest bt update^^) @ 530mhz

well,most of the games are only very laggy, smooth but slow. dont know but the frameskip funktion and the cpu cycle funktion is not working like it should . it would be much easyer to find the right values if there were toolbar buttons to change frameskip/cpucyles on the fly (like in the win version).

Can someone right a tutorial on how to get dosbox to actually run things? I can't even input stuff into dosbox.

1) download dosbox XD
2) extract it to your storage card

[warcraft sample]
3)make a new folder called "warcraft" on your storage card
4)copy all game files there

5)open dosbox.conf
6)

[...]
fullscreen=true
[...]
memsize=8 or 16 (depends on how much free mem you have)
[...]
frameskip=4 (well..find the fitting value yourself)
[...]
cycles=5000 (same as for frameskip, actual emulation speed results on how you set up frameskip and cycles i think)
[...]
(disable all sound devices,dont know if this improves emulation speed but theres no sound anyway)
nosound=false
[...]
mpu401=false
[...]
sblaster=false
[...]
gus=false
[...]
pcspeaker=false
[...]

7) well, still in the dosbox.conf , theres a section at the end called [autoexec] , since you can input anythin in 320*240 mode you have to write the game start sequence here, it should look like:

mount c "\Storage Card\WARCRAFT\"
c:
WAR.EXE

8) overclock, free as much mem as possible, run dosbox, wait, have fun(?) ... ^^

So the keyboard missing is an ega problem? Hmm, time to try an MCGA game then...

Amyway, with speed improvement, key mapping and some fixes, this has a chance of becoming a very popular piece of software from an oldschool gamer's point of view that is...

sci adventures of sierra
apogee stuff (yes, secret agent, oooh, commander keen, aaah)
dune 2 (homer simpson drooling sound here)
snarf (does anybody even KNOW this game?!)
supaplex
...

Sadly, I don't have warcraft 1 anymore, I threw out all my old dos stuff, WHAT A DRAG!!!! :(

If anyone is interested, I located the free demo to Warcraft 1, as well as a good resource for other old DOS games:
