IMHO you are spot on. Looking like Nov 8, before we know.

VGA graphics with a quality polygon speed. Incredible games graphics. Without the 2700G5 a VGA device owner would feel very cheated as soon as something really nice came out and they had some dire fall back mode.

Added to the working area of VGA for getting work done. Turning PDA use from cute :) to practical.

Of course as I'm talking practically, there really is no reason to rush off and buy the first model that comes along. :D

It is one serious piece of kit

Yes you are correct, the 2700g has an MBX core and thus 3d acceleration. The nice thing is, that rasterization is tile based and use less bandwidth than traditional hardware 3d rendering.
On top of this it also has nice video decoding features and a Crossbar Switch for video signals. (Video Signals coming from either the 2700g itself or from the PXA270 LCD controller can be switched to the internal LCD or to an external Display device)

It may have the 2700G itself, but there's still no word it'll be able to use all the fun stuff. You'd think Dell would be pimping the hell out of that.
