Well the A730w comes with a better battery and usb host compared to the X50v. The X50v also gets really bad graphics benchmarks. It seems like quite a few people wanting VGA are buying the hx4700 despite some of its downsides and its price.

I was interested in getting an X50v, but the graphics and in some measure, battery life definately are downers. I highly anticipated the 2700g, but potential does not translate to performance, and it will be a while till apps get optimized for the chip, and I doubt most will. Picard, nearly the master of all this video stuff, stated that he believes the X50v will eventually be the best for multimedia pda. While SPB Benchmark runs in QVGA and performs poorly because of lack of optimization, 99% or more of pocket pc apps (games esp.) are currently in QVGA. The X50v has to have decent pixel doubling code, or else it's shooting itself in the foot for its capabilities.

Going for the X50V is only for early adopters and the risks associated with it. I believe that the GX.DLL implementation can be replaced by anyone, but there is only a handful of people who can do it.
For me, 64 megs of RAM, low battery life and uninteresting look did it: I will wait to get a 3D accelerated PPC. I am not saying it's not interesting, but it will take at least 6 months for software to catch on (my own estimate). 6 months is a long time when it comes to PPC (I just bought my 4th in 3 years).

Do any of you think that casio will come out with a 4" screen? it certainly has the realestate for it. I guess I'll do some more waiting to see what happens. Trustee old E-125 will have to hang in there a little longer.
