Of course I need CF!

OK, at my counry, CF is sold at half the price of SD memory cards! Also I am looking to buy a PDA (probaubly Asus a620BT or Dell Axim x50, the one without WiFi, 416 MHz model) WITH CF card that won't cost me a kidny!
Oh, and I am a BIG fan of CF microdrives, and am going to 2 GB one. The coment CF vs SD is because most buget PDA's use only SD.It's a paradox, a budget PDA using the (more) expensive memory and expansion technology. And Please, all you power users, tell me, am I wrong about CF being faster?

CF may be faster, but you have to consider that the PDA itself is a bottleneck to this speed, so really the increased speed of CF vs SD in a PDA doesn't make a difference. A reason why SD is preferred is its small size. This allows the device to be smaller. The iPaq h4155 (my weapon of choice) is smaller than any of the CF devices out there thanks to the SD as opposed to CF slot, and it is not really an economy model. Although there are more CF peripherals out there, not all of us want things like that, some of us just use the slot for flash memory, therefor SD will do just fine. And I don't know where you're from, but in the United States, the price gap between SD and CF is closing quite nicely.

I have no idea if the size is similar to that of a SD card, but if it is it's really small! About the size of my thumb (top part that is ;)). Amazing what they can stuff in so little space...'

I'm using my A620BT with a 1GB CF, a 256mb CF card and a WiFi CF card and they all weren't that expensive. I cannot give you any comparisons with the SD cards, because I don't have the hardware to use them (except for my card reader ;)).

I'd say if the prices of both card types are similar in your area, just go for the Pocket PC you like and then check out what card you want. Personally I'd say go for the CF cards since they don't get lost that easy ;). I can see my sony card (as seen in the picture above) flying out of the window with a nice summer breeze... *runs for some duck tape*

Wow the memory stick sure is the smalles of all then :).

Comparison of a 32mb Memory Stick (duo) and a 1GB CF card:
