I installed a Sandisk Extreme III SecureDigital 1GB card in my A730W no problem so far, works good same results as reading and writing to ram.

Obviously you can't have 20MB/s when it's inside the PDA but putting a movie on there with a fast SD-interface should be very helpfull.
And you are also certain that the SD-card isn't the bottle neck
