Okay, can you guys do me a favor?

Plz download this movie file:

http://users.adelphia.net/~b0y2/images/[PDA]BatmanBegins.avi

which I uploaded by ftp using my handy A730"W" ahem. (got about 20~30 kB/s)

Now, please start your betaplayer, tap on Option - Video - Intel XScale, then tap on Option - Settings - Select Page - Intel SCale and make sure "Use hardware vertical zoom" is checked, and tap OK.

Now, Please tap the Play button. In about a few seconds, if you get a white screen, (which I believe they call "LCD tearing,") then mine's just like yours (minus overclockability) and it's not just my problem anymore. :D (thumb up)

NE1 wanna try?

I got reports of this problem on A730(W) and on Toshiba E830. The problem seems to be with the hardware vertical zooming option as you already found out. Unfortunatelly I couldn't find the bug yet, but this is a serious problem because the white fade means the LCD panel is not driven properly and lose syncronization with the controller. In genereal I recommend to immediately soft-reset the device if you see this white fade problem, just to be safe. But if it's not a too big problem please try out some other QVGA movies as well example the RL_MQB sample from BetaPlayer's homepage and additionally check if using 'auto' or 'max' clock speed has an effect on the problem or not (I assume a730 has some clock speed setting dialog as well)

Strange that Loox720 users don't have the problem.
