Well that works but how about a small DVD player in PPC

Postby saurabh » Feb 26, 2005 @ 12:43pm

Well you can do that currently by ripping the DVD to your PC and converting it to be able to see on the PPC, but again the question would be how much of storage space can you spare for such big files.

How about changing the design of PPC a bit, I mean the Battery at the back should be mounted on another backplate and the backplate should be able to open out, this would let us put the DVD inside back and keep the PPC running. I mean like a flip mobile phone, just like opening a book.

Once that is achieved, a small DVD player should be provided at the back, so that we can insert the DVD inside, flip back the Battery in place and then view the DVD. Ofcourse the DVD disc has to be small in size, remember the small CD-ROM being used by some companies for their profile to be distributed to customers and also for promotions.

Now that would mean real evolution of the PPC, manufacturers have to be innovative in this and ofcourse Microsoft too, since the OS needs to be able to recognize and play these DVD's. hmmmmmmmm........

Xvid might be a better codec but I couldn't get my wife's P3 to run some of those files smoothly, they are VERY (VERY) CPU intensive. Just how well do they run on a pocket pc?
