SoftWinter's Storage Tools - Buyer Beware

SoftWinter's Storage Tools - Buyer Beware

Postby technoguppy » Mar 27, 2005 @ 3:09pm

SoftWinter's Storage Tool 2.0. Avoid at all costs. Seems they have an issue when the SD Card is larger than 128MB. Better still, read there FAQ, where they blame the problem on the SD Card manufacturers. This "tool" corrupted my 1GB card to the point where it was unusable, then after putting in another SD card, it became corrupted too. After a "hard" reset, I formatted my cards with another program and hey, my malfunctioning SD Cards suddenly came back to life. Only difference this time was I hadn't installed their software. These are just my experiences, but my advice would be to save your $20, format your cards using a card reader or another program.
