Does such a thing exist? It would allow you to connect a 2.5 or 3.5 hard drive to your Pocket PC via a CF or SD slot. I know there are CF to IDE converters which allow you to use a CF card as an IDE hard drive on your PC, but what I am looking for is the opposite. The converter would probably need its own power supply for the drive which is fine.

You could use a CF to USB adapter and then a USB to IDE adapter but im sure that would be a very expensive way.

i was quite excited by the prospect of being able to convert my ipaQ 5450 into a 160GB MP3 player using this RATOC card....

...until i read through the specs... "...data transfer read speed: 0.019MB/s" :? (http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/sup ... 1u.html#04)

that's around 19Kb per second!! By my own admittedly crude calculations wouldn't that mean that i can't even listen to a full song straight through without it constantly stuttering on my ipaQ while it's reading it from the external HDD?

if so, what the hell is the point in forking out all the neccessary money? Shame 'cos it would have been good otherwise.

ps - also, i still fail to see how you could make it 500MB, i looked everywhere and the largest portable HDD i could find was 160. If i'm wrong though i would love to know
