reported after an interview with Handspring CEO, that they may go with PocketPC next time. This could be good and bad. Good: More PocketPCs, less Palms, new designs. Bad: A mob of angry Palm users;-)

The article doesn't exactly quote anyone from the Handspring camp saying they will switch to CE.<br><br>It's more of a speculatory piece.<br><br>Still, I would love to see the Handspring go CE.  I love their aggressive stance on add-ons for their product line...  HEY COMPAQ, WHERE THE F* IS MY CELLPHONE SPRINGBOARD MODULE????<br><br>If it wasn't for PocketQuake and PocketNES, I'd off my trusty iPAQ for a Handspring Edge and a Cellphone module in a heartbeat.<br><br>

If Handspring does make CE devices, they won't totally switch, but lets face it. Not many new, or should I say better, PalmOSes are being released.

Which is exactly WHY they want to switch to something else.  Did you read the article?  They find the PalmOS limiting (really?) and they want to implement more features.. blah... I bet they probably screw up again and go with one of the new linux pdas coming out.

i dunno pocketlinux is looking cool. Linux is a better shell than windoze usually...

its a cleaner shell. It utilizes the processor better on desktop systems. Also its stabl, but winCE is pretty stable too

Good point, WinCE is extremely stable,,, just do a search on Brighthand discussion board about Gerard and his EG-800, he's got everything for it keyboard, 6GB hardrive, PC Card adapter... all because he thinks it's the most stable pc he's had...

I thought it was pretty cool.  The difference is about 500 more dollars and you can basically drop it off of a tall building and it won't break.

ya, thats what i thought, it looks cool, but i believve my warrenty covers drops. So cool as it looks. I don't have 1000 bux to spend on a ppc
