Forget MAME, how about iMAME?

I have access to all the source files :D :D :D

I shot Glen an Email quite a bit ago and he was open to the idea.

Ooops nevermind.

Well, perhaps then Kev can take care of the memory leak which crashes iMAME when you enable sound. Domenico solved the very same problem with his CB64, has something to do with the CE OS.

Hope that gets sorted.
Damn, sounds seems to work fine for me so far. Digdug2 rocks. Although, when you quit a game and restart another sometimes the palette corrupts.

Still, you should have seen our faces when we fired it up for the first time hehe. We spent hours looking for a reason why it was crashing out, and it was only 2 lines that needed altering.

Doh.

Oh forgot to say that it was based on the old imame source. I have a version up based on the newer one, but it is too buggy on the 720 to release yet.

Kev actually ported starlancer to the dreamcast, which as you know was runs wince. hehe :) Maybe the next-gen pda's and I'll convince him to port that aswell :)

John
Dig Dug 2 blows. The first was good, but the second just ... blows.

Thanks a bunch, John. Now I'm definitely going to have get myself a 720... :)

I've been having keyboard withdrawal symptons ever since I stopped using my trusty HP 200 LX (pre-CE days!). The Stowaway is cool, but I don't find it practical. Now, do you reckon my bank manager will have heard of MAME...? :)

John:

I have access to the old iMAME site which has all the sources up to 5 which included ZIP support.

The sound problem isn't immediate, it will appear over time, as it's a memory leak, and like Anarchy Online, it's a slow countdown depending on your RAM reserves.

The color glitch is documented, and right now the simplest fix is to exit iMAME and just hop in again.

A big reason why I have always hoped that iMAME would be ressurected is because it has the BEST Galaga emulation available to the public (yea yea, bitbank has his OWN version running but MEH). On the iPAQ, I can run with 44100 sound quality and no frame skipping so I reckon the 720 should be the same.

All that needs to be addressed is the darn memory leak, if that ever gets sorted, iMAME will be the top Arcade EMU out there. Someone compile an ARM (iPAQ) build!!! ;)

Galaga has to be one of the best arcades of all time. I have it out in my family room, sitting next to my Elektra 3 level pinball machine, big screen TV, and regulation size slate pool table.
Now if only i could find a local guy with the original Rastan arcade machine. Then I'd be in business.
