PocketPC's starting to get some attention

I have been seeing PocketPC's on tv and movies more and more lately. I remember watching some mission impossible movie(or something close to that) and the guy was using a casio E-1xx series PDA. I sat down to watch tv just yesterday, and they were selling a Casio EM-500B, now of course the people selling it didnt know what they were talking about, but it was still interesting to see. I also remember one commercial where a guy is using a EM-500 upside down, and his wife is supposedly talking to him through a live feed reading him his speech. I ask myself, why upside down? Does it make it look less gameboy like? Anywho, anyone else here notice PocketPC's becoming more mainstream

i never see casios like your seeing, but i see ipaqs all the time, especially in business srticles with pictures of geeks holding pdas; also if anyone saw the prototype of dockers new 'geek-pants' they showed an x-ray view of the pockets in side ,and guess what was in one of hte pockets, yup, an ipaq

I saw that one too (the one where he's giving the speech). I think what they were trying to do was make the D-Pad look like a camera for wireless, full-motion 2-way video conferencing.<br><br>Dan East

Yeah, I've seen all those, except the "selling EM-500b" one. To tell you the truth, I've only seen people in public with e-1xx PDAs. Then again, one of those was because I convinced the guy (the children's pastor at my church) to buy one. He likes it and has bought a 1 gig HD for it. I'm surprised I haven't seen more iPAQs.

I saw 'the world is not enough' a while ago, when they go through the pipline on that sled thing to stop the bomb.. the girl has a HP jordana "powered by windows CE". I think she uses it too...
