Recently, I emailed the people at mozilla.org and asked them if there was anyone working on a pocket pc version of the mozilla browser. They told me that there wasn't. The person that replied to me asked me if I ever knew of someone making a pocket pc version of mozilla, to let them know.

I was wondering if anyone here could possibly compile a version for the pocket pc platform or if would indeed be possible. I'm sure that would be VERY cool.

Just a thought. ( If you don't know what mozilla is, check out http://mozilla.org

Well, porting an app like that wouldn't be nearly as hard as a game port would be... I'm sure someone could easily take up the 'challenge.'

Mozilla's website has all sorts of sources and builds and all that programming jargon I don't know anything about but i'm sure someone with programming knowledge would be able to do it.

MooseMaster, I sure do hope someone takes up the ' challenge ' . I'm not aware of any other web browsers for pocket pc. Are there any ?

Chris, I agree, I'd rather have Mozilla on my PPC then Pocket IE.

God Bless open source.

iBrowser by Foliage or something or other...but...I don't think it's necessarily any better than PIE.

I downloaded the codebase for Mozilla last night. But its kinda' a HACK-PIECE-O-DOO-DOO right now. Which is too bad.

PIE is kinda slow, but other than that what is wrong with it? Curious, because writing a browser from scratch wouldn't be too terrible...at least for PPC.

I wonder, if having Mozilla for pocket PC would put a dent in Microsoft's ego, suppossing someone built it and it became popular. hehehe

Larry Bank is working on making a "quick and dirty" browser from scratch. He is not focusing on features to much, just the basics. But he hopes for it to be much faster than PIE. Maybe after he is done, someone can contact him, and build onto his code to make a version that has more features so people have a choice of quick and dirty, or slower but feature filled. Good idea?
