Quake Problems

I followed all the steps to install pocket quake, and i go to run it and it starts.  The bottom part (control area) shows up and up top its says loading quake.  The a message pops up that says Cannot load gfx.wad.  Whats the problem here? how can i fix it

sounds like PQ cant load the gfx.wad. i dont think we've ever had this problem before, i think we made need dan east, the creator, or perhaps even some of the guys at id.<br><br>thank you for your post.

You have either not installed the pak0.pak file onto your device, you put it in the wrong place, or you did not unzip the file. Check the Pocket Quake forum. That question has literally been answered more than a hundred times.<br><br>Dan East

ok, wait.  It says the file is called pak0.pak.gz<br>do i get rid of the .gz? how? i also couldnt really find anything in the pocket quake room :p

You should leave it gZipped if you don't have room for the uncompressed data file (16 MB or so). You can use WinZip to decompress it to get rid of the .gz extension, but again, you may have to leave it compressed.<br><br>Dan East
