Ok guys, I think it is time that I tell you all where I hope PocketMatrix will go in the future. I would like everyone to read this, it is important. I know it is long, but like I said, its important.

Good idea with the news, I've noticed that the news has been lacking recently.
Be careful with the open reviews thing. It will work great, and that's how I got started reviewing things, but just make sure there is a quality guarantee on everything that comes out of PM.
My computer is very fast, I could encode some music videos and commercial clips in a matter of minutes. The hard part would be uploading them to the server or sending them to you or Chris on my dinky 28.8k
Matt, do EVERYTHING you can to get a dedicated PocketQuake server up and running under your new host so PocketPC users everywhere can connect to it and play against other PPC owners. Dan, you're probably going to need to work on PQ some more if this happens, as it is kind of REALLY slow right now. And you need to add that method of desktop connection prevention, so that only PPCs can connect to the server running for PocketPCs. You may have to build a slightly modded Quake version for the desktop to do this, unless you find some inventive way of going about this task.

Anything I can do to help, I will. I'm mediocre at just about everything, from graphics to programming

.

Not Verdana, I think Arial is good enough. Just NOT Times New Roman or any of those curly old style fonts with the bases on the Ns and Ms and so fourth.

I don't know if you want feedback on this, but I will give it anyway.

I have been coming here for several months now. It started off because I needed some help running PocketQuake of all things. What happened next was becoming familiar and friendly with the people here, and that above all has kept me coming back.

I will not mention names, save for Moose who's humor I find refreshing, and help I find useful, if sometimes cryptic.

I agree, not that it matters, with your mission statement, but I would like to put my feelings to a point so that I, and others, might be clear.

Off-Topic posts suck, but they only suck if they are NOT in the Anything forum, and they go to far. Cursing is fine, I suppose, if used in a controlled manner, not as a flame. I would hate to think that a ribbing here and there would not be allowed, even if it was contained in a useful post.

I know this is not our personal romping-ground, but I have friends (I think I can refer to you as that) here that I have no other means of communication with. We discuss PPC stuff, World Politics, Cartoons and programming. Its actually quite nice.

I will spare you promises of reform, because I know, from reading Chris's posts in the past, that you will not go to the extreme of moderation.

PocketMatrix, IMHO, is the BEST place on the web to COLLABORATE with people who use PPCs. Not only that but it is a place where we can shoot-the-poop with people who are REALLY making waves, like Fred and Carpe, like Dan and Digby.

Thanks for your time in reading this, and thanks for putting this site together.

nah its simple, he just has to build in a little number that gets checked when logging on. if it isnt there then you cant get on the pq server. or something.

i am also mediocre at everything but, uh... well, thats it.

On a quick asside, I want to contribute whatever I can.

Chris said he would like it if I post a review on the new HP if I manage to ever get my hands on one, and I will.

Shape and I are working on a new LCARS app (note: WE MET HERE), and Chris said he'd host it for download.

THIS IS THE STUFF PM is made of.

you're right. we need to get old skool on this shit, man. for me it starts with providing a great service to the many pocketQuakers out there.

i hope i can count on your help in coding the advanced stuff in the pages rather than the endless jokes about my 'lovelife'...

I'm just a decent programmer, so I dunno what extent of help I can provide. However, my computer is of a decent speed and I'm trying to encode some Bugs Bunny for me to watch

...so anyway, if i figure out the right settings with Matt's help I could encode more stuff. I have a DSL connection that is luckily very close to the nearest Telco so my bandwith is pretty darn good for this type of broadband. I could upload movies pretty easily I think.

The only other issue I have is that RICoder keeps using the word cryptic. I think it's his favorite.

keep in mind, that when we do assemble a encoding team, We cant use anything illegal like bugs bunny episodes, or movies, or anything else along these lines. We can further disscuss these issues when the time comes.
