Merlin and sound

Merlin and sound

While you can change a few sounds on the hp 568, you can't change the default or menu drops and such.

Is this a Merlin design issue or specific to the hp? When making themes, can you set different sounds?

James

There is a lot of people complainning about the sound on the iPAQ upgraded to PPC2002, because of a popping sound on the speaker. Besides that, I never heard nothing. I imagine you could set up new sounds, and I think the OS version you have is the same to all the new ARM PPCs.

With the hp 540 series, you could set different sounds for default, asterick, open, close, start up, active sync start & end, infrared start & end and ANY sound.

With the hp 560 series, you are limited to ActiveSync, Beam, MSN Messenger & reminders.

I usually try and make these devices look as much like a Star Trek device as possible. Besides, the PocketPC 2002 sounds are rather annoying.

James

Even in my iPAQ 3670 you can change the sounds. I thought PPC2002 would permit that too.

The 540 series didn't have a problem with popping. The 560 series DOES have a distinct sound.

Why would you use sounds anyway? I find mine turned off unless im playing a game. Its pretty annoying to have your ppc make loud sounds at you when your in a silent class room aafter a test or somthing.
