Mobile Phone/iPAQ question

Ok, I got a Motorola mobile phone and I want to use it to connect my iPAQ to the Web. While it doesn’t have infrared, I´m almost sure that there are a serial data-sync cable avaliable for it. Now, my question is, if I can get that cable and put a Serial/USB adapter on it and then connect it to my ActiveSync cable and then to my iPAQ, can I connect my PPC to the internet, “plug & play”? Or do I need some kind of driver?

For the new PPC2002 you don't, but for WinCE 3.0 I think you'll need a program.

Oops, I was talking about surfing with the iPAQ ON THE CRADLE. Through a mobile phone, I think it's just touch and go. If the phone permits that, of course.

I'd like to say:<br><br> (in PPC 2000) integreatet Modem Service does<br> only support a generic IrDA Modem and a Hayes<br> Compatible IrDA Modem....nothin' else!<br><br>So you will need something like a driver (if<br>there is any...) and a good instruction to build that cable....<br><br><br>Greetings<br>Lx

I dont need to "build" any cable. Motorola sells one. I just wanted to know if I need a specific driver for my PPC, and where I can get it.<br>

The Nokia 7160 works by IR fine, without any apps in WinCE3.0 and PPC2002.

Dont even talk about the 7160! I wanted to buy that one soo much, but unfortunately, it is a <br>"pós-pago" model... So I decided to stick with the Motorola with FM radio.. :)

The 7160 rocks. In my opinion, it's best mobile out. I'm looking forward to trading my TalkAbout in for a 7160.<br>Do you really listen to radio on the phone?
