A PC Card hard drive will drain battery about the same as a MicroDrive.

There was a thread at Brighthand.com which had many battery life test comparing Mr. Flash to different CF cards.

Personally I think your best bet would be getting a 512mb CF card(not microdrive) I have seen them on the net as low as $200

Are the ones for $200 generic like Mr. Flash or a brand name (like SanDisk.) I have only been able to find 512 meg cards for $200 that are generic. Guess that is what I will have to go with (and take the hit with the power loss) unless you know somewhere that sells non-generic cards for that cheap...

I would second that opinion. CF or MMC/SD would efinitely be the way to go. SD cards are still pretty expensive comparatively, but eventually these two technologies will reach parity pricewise.

Tach -
I don't know about the memory that you posted in the previous thread. But, it's always hard to tell. I have a Mr. Flash 128 card, and I get pretty decent performance with it. If you read the brighthand thread some people report that it shortened life by about 1/4 of it claimed time. I would say buy the 512 generic. you'll find that it will probably last long enough to at least play one full movie, if not more. It also depends on what brightness you will be running at.
